Owner retired as a Jasper Engines & Transmissions staff mechanic .. a meticulous rebuild here!

If you are looking to stand out from the classic 50s Chevrolet's, this beautiful Raven Black/Carousel Red Mercury Montclair 2dr custom sedan has many great stock options and some tasteful modern upgrades that would be sure to set you apart from the pack. The current owner purchased the car in 1984. All rust has been repaired with fresh metal (rocker panels). The front cross-member has been replaced with a new aftermarket one and welded in, followed by a front end alignment. A new fuel tank has been installed and the fuel line has been replaced with a new one. The carburetor was rebuilt and has a lifetime warranty (carb only warranty) as well as new spark plugs, wires, and electronic ignition. The bearings, bushings, and seals were all replaced during the transmission rebuild. This vehicle has a deep dish steering wall for safety and the brakes have all been replaced. Cherry bomb mufflers and a custom exhaust really bring the rebuilt 312 engine to life!

Non-performance upgrades include a modern radio (am, fm, mp3) but still keeps a period correct appearance as the original unit was rebuilt by a professional. The car features genuine rear speakers and the grill as well, a very hard to find feature. The original tube radio has been rebuilt. New whitewall Koker tires were added approximately 3,000 miles ago. Some of the chrome trim was recently redone and a new chrome rear bumper has been installed. There is some pitting yet on the chrome. The car has original wheel covers (very hard to find) and genuine rear fender skirts. The Raven Black paint was done by the current owner, and the Carousel red is an original. It is really a beautiful and head-turning color combo. The dash appears to be all original and in working order. This car's interior compliments the paint and gives the driver a period correct feel despite not being original to the car. A battery operated clock has been fitted. Brand new wind lace around the doors, the rubber door trim was recently redone for a proper door seal. The seats have new foam and have been recovered, with professional grade upholstery material and seat belts have been added for safety.

This car has some minor issues to be disclosed; minor surface rust on the drivers interior wall door, a few of the chrome pieces still need to be refurbished, the old glass has a few bubbles which is very common to the era, minor leak in the rear differential cover. This car has been on the road, driven, and maintained since 2001 and is a super driver! Perfect for car shows too and from 6' away appears perfect.
