Car description

For Sale is the 1964 Mercury Comet 202. 200 6 cylinder with 2 speed automatic transmission. Car does run and lot drive only. Brakes are not working the best due to a leaking right front wheel cylinder. This is a solid bodied car. Very little rust or rot through anywhere on the body. The trunk is solid and good condition. There are some areas underneath the car that have some corrosion. The trunk aprons have some holes along the bottom. The pinch weld is solid yet so this is an easy fix. There is some on the floor pans but pans are overall very nice. The rockers are very nice. Torque boxes are solid. I haven't found any other areas of rust underneath the car. Please look at the pictures. The engine does run and doesn't blow any smoke out the tail pipe. Sounds good, with some rattling from lifters(adjustment). No other noises from engine. Carburetor should be rebuilt because of old gas. This is something you will have to go through. You won't be able to just get in and drive it without some work. You should go through the brakes, fuel system, fluids and filters changes, etc. It will need new tires. The car was repainted same color at one point in its life. This is seen by some paint peeling in a few areas. The interior is complete but is original and is in need of replacement. There are cheap seat covers over the original black and white seats. The door panels are deteriorated and falling apart. The carpet is worn. Most of the dash and pieces are faded and need of replacement. The hood and trunk trim is in the trunk of the car. The I bought this car with intentions of making it a great driver car but other commitments are keeping me from working on it. I know little about the history besides the fact it came from Iowa. That's about it. Pickup is in Hustisford WI. Buyer must arrange shipping or pick up in person. Deposit of $500 is required. There is a reserve. Please ask questions before bidding.
