Just pulled her out of the shed where she had been sitting since 1992, and before that many years in a garage, I am told.
The car is offered for sale at a price I feel reflects what it is worth, given body style, scarcity, and condition. I do not need to sell, and am just as happy tinkering away on it...
This car needs a restoration - the usual areas such as rocker and quarters. Floors seem good, trunk fine. Top is shot, but rails there. Interior ready to re-upholster - all there, including nice console. I have a NOS Unity 134 spotlight that goes with car, as well as NOS dog dish and original full wheel covers.
This car is a good restoration candidate, and many parts are available re-pop (Falcon bits fit, and many Comet repops are also available).
This is a Canadian car built in Oakville Ontario.
Have title.
Car is equipped with a 260 V8, automatic.
Neat car. Restore or restomod.
Mileage shows 37xxx, I expect it has gone around once, so mileage exempt.
My research tells me only approx. 5700 of these cars ever built.
I am listing it at a very fair starting price, no reserve. Transportation up to you. Car moves when paid for.
*I have started to dismantle, bag and tag car. I bought a "like new" grill which I have sent out to trim specialist for buffing and perfecting. I have also bought wheels, a restored radio, etc. Trim will soon be sent out for polishing/plating. New quarters and rockers are on the list for Fall. I'll just add actual costs of additional work/bits completed to price if/when sold.
I am thinking of building the 260 V8 to Shelby Cobra specs, as Carrol Shelby did with early Cobra's, changing suspension (Mustang IFS), brakes, rear end (Ford 9" narrowed) and running tubbed rear vintage slicks and front skinnies, and keeping it otherwise stock looking. Maybe silver with white top and red and white interior.... Anyway, that is if the car doesn't sell - if it does, buyer can do their own thing.
I am open to trades, on earlier vehicles, meaning pre-war cars or pre-1968 motorcycles. I prefer earlier cars, and bought this on a whim after discovering it hiding two doors down from home....amazes me what you can stumble across in your own back yard!
