Car description |

1958 Mercury Monterey Convertible.
History... This car was located in the desert where it had been left for many many years, although complete it required a total restoration. Being a desert car the body had survived well but was badly weathered. The car was brought home and a 3 years restoration completed. I am selling this car for an elderly friend who has decided that it is time to downsize his collection.
Body... The body was dismantled restored and repainted, all trim is in place and in very good condition. The roof hardware was restored and painted with a rebuilt convertible pump, pistons and lines however it has not been filled with fluid or tested. The tail lights and bezels are NOS as is much of the chrome trim. The wheel covers are correct and there is some optional trim installed.
Mechanical... This Mercury has the optional 430 CID V8 that has been completely rebuilt as has the automatic transmission, all steering components, brakes and exhaust have been restored as needed. The wiring has been restored, the wide whitewall tires are new. The lights and gauges are working all of the windows go up and down as they should and all glass is good.
Interior... The interior is completely redone, the convertible top is new as is the boot cover.
Over All... This car needs nothing and is ready to go. The restoration was completed about 4 years ago and has only been driven about 1500 miles since. There is about $80,000.00 invested in the car to get it to this point. The color, the continental kit, the optional 430 engine all add value to this very rare convertible. If your looking for aworth while investmentthat is complete and ready to be enjoyed then this may be the car for you. I have listed this car unreserved with a low starting bid because I'm serious about selling it. If you are unsure about it or do not have the money please do not bid. Feel free to call textBruce at (250) 515-1110or contact me through eBay if you have any questions.
US Buyers... I can help with shipping and documentation as I have exported several cars to the US. I can have the car delivered to a storage facility on Washington if needed. To get the best shipping quotes is time consuming and will only be done for the winning bidder. I can have the car delivered to Vancouver British Columbia if the winning bidder choses to come for the car in person.
Canadian Buyers... I can ship the car to Vancouver Calgary Toronto or Montreal by rail if needed.
Overseas Buyers... I can ship the car to most ports from Vancouver, San Diego or Toronto and help with the documentation and arranging a broker.
Scammers... Don't waste you time I've already heard it !
