Car description |

Up for sale today is a very rare 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis 2 door.
This is a very rare car with very low mileage. They did not produce a lot of 2 door grand marquis over any year. Only 4,904 were ever produced over all years combined, with them being discontinuedafter 1987.
CURRENT MILEAGE:20,130. I put 21,000 because I drive daily. This number will be updated periodically. I have driven it over 4,000 miles total since I bought it.
EDIT: I have learned through eBay about the accident that has been reported. I have done some investigation and it was a fender bender. The previous owner rear ended someone. There was no damage to the Mercury at all. At first I assumed there was damage because there is a spare headlight surround in the trunk, but I have looked over the police report and it's specifically listed that there were no damages. The other car's bumper cover was damaged, and that was it.
This car does in fact have under 21,000 original miles, and seeing it as well as driving it, you can easily tell this is the case.
The car is in extremely good condition with very minimal flaws. There are a few minor and hard to spot dents, as well as a quarter size amount of rust at the bottom of the passenger fender that you can't spot without looking hard.
The car is equipped with:
I also have a 100 amp alternator for this specific model, however the bracket to install it does not come with it (I never bought one, you can find a model, be it the 4 door or two door, that came with it at a junkyard or buy one online as well as make one).
The air shocks cost around $80 new, and the alternator was around $110. Both will be discounted should you choose to purchase them with the car.
Now for the bad:
Other than what's listed, the car is in great working order. Now that it's summer I drive it to work every day. It's honestly in the better shape with lower miles than any other survivor grade car I've found. I would know, because after my first one (the black 4 door in the background of a photo) was totaled by a plow truck that ran a red light, I looked for 6 straight months every day for one to replace it, and I was looking all over the country.
I am fairly firm on the price, although offers will be considered. This car being a 2 door does make it significantly more rare than the 4 doors.I'm selling this because I have some hospital bills I need to take car of. Simple as that.

The car is in extremely good condition with very minimal flaws. There are a few minor and hard to spot dents, as well as a quarter size amount of rust at the bottom of the passenger fender that you can't spot without looking hard.
The car is equipped with:
- 5.0L V8 and 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission.
- A new Pioneer radio w/ Bluetooth, aux, USB, and CD as well as 4 new speakers. The car is currently set up with a really nice sound system with 2 12" 750w RMS (each, totaling 1500w) subs that can be included for an extra price. They are Skar audio subs, and very nice, crisp and clear.
- The original radio as well as the original face plate (AM/FM standard radio) is included. (The face plate now is from my '85 4 door and looks factory. The AM/FM combo wouldn't fit a new head unit. There were no modifications and there is no noticeable difference in terms of the way it looks in the car to the rest of the interior panels)
- Power Windows w/ new motors installed within the last month.
- A/C compressor that is in perfect working order, however I have not had it recharged as finding R-12 is difficult. I do know someone and for an extra price can have them fill it. The lines shouldn't leak as I was able to use some test fluid and found no leaks - if you choose to have me fill it I will verify that it does not leak and fix any leaks I do find. It would cost $70, which is a lot but I only found one person with it - and that's what they want.
- Locks, seats and side mirrors are manual.
- New spark plugs and wires
- New cap and rotor for the distributor.
- New wiper blades.
- Full sized spare, with mounting bracket, original jack and lug wrench.
- Specific locking nut tool for the wheels is included.
- Functional Analog center clock.
I also have a 100 amp alternator for this specific model, however the bracket to install it does not come with it (I never bought one, you can find a model, be it the 4 door or two door, that came with it at a junkyard or buy one online as well as make one).

Now for the bad:
- Needs 3 new tires. The current ones hold air and can be driven on (I drive on them now actually) however they are old, have dry rot and are low tread. One of them actually blew out on me, which is why the original spare is now on the car. It does come with another full sized white wall spare.
- There is a crack in the dashboard, it's in the center of the dashboard and goes from one end to the other (back of the car to the hood directionally).
- Could use exhaust work. There is a slight rattle sometimes that is caused by a loose heat shield. Doesn't need a full exhaust system, just the rattle fixed. The Catalytic converters were replaced in 1994 due to a recall, and were replaced around 12,000 miles. They are not clogged and function as they should.
- The headliner is loose and needs to be redone. It's currently pinned up with safety pins to keep it from falling.
