Car description |
---|
Up for sale is a clean original 2 owner 1990 Mercury Cougar XR7 5 speed supercharged coupe. These cars are getting quite rare in this condition with the manual Transmission (1 of only 850 produced in 1990). The body and paint are in good condition for a 28 year old car. Interior is in good condition, including the seats and carpets. The car has all the power options. It runs and drives well with plenty of power.
Tlc needed but not limited to due to the age of this vehicle: Odometer very recently started working intermittently and now is not working at all (miles are not increasing) was told it is a typical problem with old fords and requires a small plastic gear in the instrument cluster to be replaced. The car has not been driven much since 2016 when the original owner passed away. Tires have alot of tread but should be replaced due to age. Radiator cooling fan not turning on, the car has NOT been overheated and is still easily drivable, I don't allow it to idle stationary and it's never a problem if the car is moving. Worn rubber bushings on rear differential mount occasionally cause a clunk between shifts. Some trim and moldings around the body are showing their age. Again this is a good running and driving car.
