Car description |
---|
I purchased this black plate car out of northern California about two years ago. It's been sitting in my garage for that entire time and I haven't touched it except to sit in it and admire the musty old car smell. The only issues with the sheet metal on this car have arisen from the vinyl roof that was once on the car. It leaked and now the front floors are soft near the front of the floor pans. It's not even the entire front pans but more like the front half of each of the front floor pans. The cowl is solid, trunk is solid except for small holes near the drain plugs, drop downs are solid, torque box is solid, frame rails are solid, quarters, doors and fenders are solid. I went over this car with a magnet and found two spots that have mud in them. The very front of the drivers fender and just above the driver rear wheel well. Both likely from fender benders at some point in the last 50 years.
I'm not going to blather on about the "completeness" of this car because it is COMPLETE so please don't ask a redundant question on that topic. And you can see options from ORIGINAL window sticker in the pics. Needs complete restoration outside, inside and under the hood. Will need a new roof which will be provided. Does not run or drive and I've never even turned it over because the gas smells horrible. Engine turns by hand and transmission shifts in and out of gear.
As you can tell the car also comes with nearly a complete new interior except for carpet and headliner. Car even still has it's original hideous Cinnamon Frost paint scheme and paisley parchment interior.
I'm a member of both Classic Cougar Community and Mercury Cougar.Net so I'm not a fly by night buyer and seller of classics but an avid Cougar fan. I can answer any question you have about this car and Cougars in general. I can try to take more pics if you have something specific that you would like to see. I'll gladly share my number with a legitimate bidder/buyer to discuss the car as well.
I will gladly help your delivery company load the vehicle but will not exchange cash or title with them. I also have a car hauler but no truck so if you want to pay for a Uhaul truck I can deliver within about a 500 mile radius of Blackfoot, ID. If it's overnight delivery then you'll have to pay for a hotel as well.
I'll happily take a check of any sort but car and title won't be released until my bank says the check is good and has magically turned into cash in my account. Hopefully I've covered everything. I know original GT's don't come up for sale very often so good luck.
And since people don't read the small print $500 DEPOSIT REQUIRED WITHIN 48 HOURS VIA PAYPAL. Don't have paypal then please don't bid unless you can put cash in my in my hand in that same amount of time.
On Sep-08-18 at 09:04:56 PDT, seller added the following information:
Received a question regarding the roof so I went out and pulled the headliner and insulation down. I really only found two small pinholes near the front of the roof. However there is surface rust around the inside rim of the roof where moisture obviously condensed. And as we all know "the rust you can see is only half the problem". I can't see all the way to the edges of roof because of the roof supports. I've never repaired a car roof but I guess this roof has no major holes and could be usable with some major work. I'm not telling you that it is a good roof however so bid with that in mind. If you don't want the included roof panel that is fine as well.
Was also asked how long I can hold the car for the winner. I can keep the car indefinitely as long as it is completely paid for. As you can tell in the pics I have room for my parts cars so the GT can stay as well. My new garage will be built in November and I may have room for it inside once it is built. Depends on how much more stuff I buy.
