Car description |
---|
1962 Mercury Monterey 4-door hardtop. Survivor car in excellent condition. Purchased by me from original owner family in 2016. Largest optional engine: 390 V-8, 4 bbl., dual exhaust. Lots of options: power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seats, curb feelers, Multi-Drive transmission, radio, electric clock (all working, except one rear window). Original paint "Desert Frost"; roof re-painted original and correct "Sultana White".
New since 2016: re-cored radiator, water pump, fuel pump, belts, hoses; coil, wires, plugs, points, cap, rotor, condenser; brake shoes, master cylinder, booster; timing chain and gear, carburetor rebuilt.
White vinyl headliner is in excellent condition. A few splits on driver's seat cushion. Small rust spot on right rear fender.
Car is driven regularly, and it runs and drives very well. I am selling it reluctantly because I just bought a 1959 car and need to make room. It is reasonably priced for quick sale--see NADA values. I believe this car falls into the "Average Retail" category. Original documentation (dealer invoice, sales contract, owner's manual) comes with the car. This is a rare and excellent car all around. How many of these original rocket taillight Monterey hardtops are left? "Chance of a lifetime!"
I have to state the obvious: A bid is a CONTRACT so only bid if you have the ability and intention to pay, space for the car, permission (if needed) to buy it, and the ability to transport it to your location. Seller reserves the right to end auction at any time for any reason.
