This is my daily driver, running the kids back and forth to school / work / soccer etc. It's a 1956 Mercury 4 door wagon, 6 passenger. It was originally sold at Murphy Lincoln Mercury in Long Beach, CA. Assembled in Los Angeles, CA on Sept.17th of 1956. It's body code is 79D, was original Carousel Red and White, with White and Black interior. Only 8,100 Mercury wagons built. Original cost of this vehicle was $2,722.00. This car had 2 previous owners prior to me and both were in California, and I have paperwork from both. This has the original "Y-Block" 312 engine with a aluminum intake and 4 barrel carb, 1969 Torino C-4 trans and starter, front disc brakes and a Danna 44 rear end. Also a Aluminum 4 core radiator. Replaced windshield with a "New Old Stock" 1956 Ford windshield so there is no green stripe at the top. It was wrapped in a new Bob Drake rubber seal when installed. The rest of the glass is in great shape and the door regulator have all been rebuilt so they open and close smoothly. It has a Pertronic Electronic Ignition system, and Speedway fuel pump, updated to electric wipers, Bob Drake door seals all around. Replaced rockers and lower fenders due to leaves against the body at one point. I hate to loose this fantastic car as a daily driver, but with the kids sports and daily events it just doesn't make sense any more. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and charges.
