Car description |
---|
Up for auction is a 1970 Mercury Montego MX Brougham. The car is equipped as original with a 302 ci engine and C-4 Select Shift Automatic transmission. I believe these to be original but cannot verify. The interior and exterior are also as original in a dark ivy green metallic paint and medium green vinyl interior. The exterior has an older repaint on it. It has some chipping, small dings, etc, but still presents nicely as a driver car. The floors are solid, the trunk pans have older repairs in them as pictured. Door jambs no dot appear to have been repainted when the car was done and retain original paint. No major rust of any kind. It does have some very small bubbles starting around the wheel lips and very bottom of the quarter panels. The interior is mostly original with newer carpet. The dash has a vinyl cover on it. All of the seat belts are there and in good condition including the driver and passenger shoulder harness. The electrical on the car is in good shape, head lights, tail lights, and markers all in good working condition. The turn signals work but the cam is broken so you have to hold them one way or the other. It has a newer JVC CD player and rear speakers. Sun tachometer, oil, temp, and voltage gauges. Fuel gauge and speedo work good. The vacuum powered hideaway head light doors are functional, although they have had some tabs repaired on them. Good heater and blower motor. The car was originally equipped with AC. The lines and pump are long gone. Mechanically the car does really well. The 302 has had some mild upgrades including an Edelbrock 4V aluminum intake manifold and 600 cfm carb, Mallory ignition, Moroso wires, Hedman headers, newer dual exhaust(great sound), and power steering. The wheels and tires are in good shape 60% tread on the tires. Wheels are Cragar SST 14". It has standard drum brakes that work very well. Overall this Montego is a great driver car that will still turn heads with the rumble of the dual exhaust and the iconic look of a 70's muscle car. Please call or email with questions 765-376-3486I can deliver the car within a few hundred miles for a fee.I have a deluxe Marti Report to go with the car. It is 1 of 308 with these Paint/Trim codes. I ran out of room to picture it...Below is the info:O-1970H-Lorain11- Montego MX Brougham 2 door Hardtop
