Car description |
---|
Up for auction is a '67 Mercury Comet Caliente two door hard top. V8, automatic transmission, power steering. The previous owner drove the car in high school in 1979-'80. Then allowed the car to sit outside for approximately thirty years and deteriorate to it's current condition. The car was last registered in 1988.The car does not run. It rolls and steers. The driver door does not open, the passenger door does not latch. Both front windows do not roll down. Both rear windows roll down. Rust damage to the floors, trunk opening and battery tray. The previous owner said the engine is a 289. The alternator is missing. The Caliente letters between the tail lights are missing. There are no keys. The rear wheels are from an '87 Cadillac Eldorado, the rear tires have excellent tread. The front wheels appear to be original and the front tires hold air.
To me, it appears this car was repainted and possibly repaired by a '70's car lot prior the previous owner's purchase. The under-dash radio, poor quality paint and rear spring shackles look like things a small car lot might do to make the car more attractive to a younger buyer.
The car has a clean title in my name.If you have any questions or would like more photos, please email or call (503) 569-8045.
All transportation costs are the buyer's responsibility.A $50 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end, the remaining balance to be paid in cash or certified bank check.Winning bidder has two weeks to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made.
Thanks for looking.
