Up for bids is this 1972 mercury comet. It looks like a GT and I was told it is a GT with the hood scoop and other features but I am no comet man and I am not 100% sure so you can look at it and make your own decision on that. It is a complete pretty solid car. It has a clear title. It has good floors and frame rails. The truck floor and engine bay are good. The lower drivers quarter at the bottom has some bondo in it where someone repaired it but thats really the only rust spot I see. The roof has a area that was repaired with bondo that you can see from the inside but it has nothing to do with rust. The glass is decent in it. It has decent interior. It has an aftermarket 5.0 HO motor with a 5 speed transmission. The guy I got it from said it would fly and I imagine it would with this little car. It has been sitting up for around 9 years so it needs a fuel system cleaning and some fine tuning before it is road ready. The brakes will need some work. I hooked a jug up to the fuel pump and messed with it and got it to crank but there is something that needs working on with the ignition or the electronic stuff on it. After I got it to crank it ran for a while and ran good. Then I tried to crank it again and it acted like it wasn't getting fire so there is something that needs some attention. This is a project car I won't say its a full blown major project because you could drive it pretty quick if you get it running but it needs restoration so I will call it a project. Overall this is a very unusual car that you don't see alot of. It looks pretty good and would make a nice project if you are looking for something unusual that won't break the bank.
