5721939 Mercury Convertible - Grand National Senior Winner Frame off restoration

As described above this is a frame off restoration done at a very high level. This is the 1st year of Mercury and the convertible was the lowest production. The '39 Mercury looks very much like the Ford but actually is very different. These cars are much harder to find than the same vintage Fords, especially in this condition. This car came out of the Famous Dingman Collection and that tells the quality. Most of us have purchased cars that we thought were high quality originals only to find that much money and timewould need to be spent to bring it up to the level that we thought it was. The best way to avoid this is to purchase a car that has already been judged and is a proven winner. This car has won the highest award given by the AACA but actually the Dearborn Award is much harder to get. This car sold at RM Auction for over $100,000. It can be purchased now with more awards for much less. The '39 Mercury Street Rod is also for sale if interested. The only reason that this car is offered for sale now is the fact that I have reached an age that forces me to cut back on the number of cars that I have. I am listing this car on E Bay only once & if it doesn't sell it will be sold at the RM Auction at Hershey in October.
