1963 Mercury Monterey S55 Coupe with the Breezeway window. It is all original and a true survivor. It only has 49,000 miles. All power windows work. The engine bay is extremely clean and the seats are perfect. It is an automatic console and bucket seat beauty. It lives up to the name turnpike cruiser. The pictures tell the story. VIN# 3Z67Z516776.
I bought this for my father a few years ago from Western Washington state. I am the 3rd owner as I bought it from the estate of the late 2nd owner. I shipped it to Michigan for my father to drive around to local shows during his summer stays. He barely drove it about 500 miles in 3 years. He doesn’t use it so he asked me to sell and focus on my own projects. This is a rare beauty that can be picked up for less than what is currently for sale on eBay. It is completely rust free. A thorough tune up and adjustments to get it back to great form. It has’t been run in almost a year. It does need a trim piece on the rear corner. I do have a replacement that was included when I bought it, but it was held in place with a screw. It also needs a trunk lock. The lower side trim had been lost from the second owner and the estate had the holes filled and painted over. It’s not a show paint job. It was done to protect the body and sell it.
Last owner had the lower trim come off so they did a basic repaint and filled in the trim clip holes. The left rear corner tail trim (in picture) has a dent in it but I have a spare. They will need a little work to get to show quality.
It has the really cool Breezeway rear window too. All power windows work. Seats are perfect with no tears in them. The engine bay is great shape for a survivor car.
It runs and drives really well. It has a few minor items from sitting without being run. Power steering seal and transmission pan leak a little. .
This would make an awesome cruiser at it is or a full on rare beauty if restored.
