1951 mercury lead sled custom hot rod

This 51 Merc is a mild custom finished spring 2015and although the top is not chopped most other modifications have been completed. It has been nosed and decked with door handles removed. Headlight, taillights and antenna are frenched and lights aretinted. It has a beautiful PPG base coat clear coat paint job which was professionally applied with a mirror-like finish. Pinstriping on hood front and on air cleaner. Lake pipes are functional. Grill is 52-53 Desoto with 11 teeth. Outside rear view mirrors house turn signals.It is powered by an mid 70s Pontiac 400 engine and a, 50 trans. The new engine has 220 miles clocked. The rear end is also Pontiac of the same vintage. The frame consists of the stock Mercury with a mid 70s GMsub frame grafted in giving it power steering and disc brakes. Air bags front and rear that are activated by a compressor in the trunk. The battery is also in trunk and has a shut off switch.The interior is white naugahyde and the front seat matching off white leather. The style is tuck and roll.The headliner is off white with gray piping to match the seatsThe trunkmatches the interior. The dash is from a 49 and uses white face gauges from Classic plus a matching tack. It has gray carpet with a black carpet over top of that. Electric windows are operated from key fob. After market Budnik steering wheel matches the upholstery.Air conditioning is started. Vents are in the dash Black box is under the dash, ompressor is installed.
