1978 MERCEDES 450 SL

I am pleased to offer this exceptional 1978 Mercedes Benz 450 SL with both tops. This SL has had loving car as it was formally owned by a retired couple, he husband having served in the United States Navy. Included in the sale are pictures taken of the former owners as well as service records from 2014 where a Mercedes dealer did $2400.00 worth of service work. The body condition of this Mercedes is exceptional. There is no evidence of rust or former accident damage. This is the right one to own. The paint is beautiful and I could only find a couple of tiny dings. All of the trim is excellent as evident in the pictures. The windshield is free of any chips or cracks. The side glass is superb. The grill is like new and both front and rear bumpers are as nice as they get. The soft top looks new and I cannot tell if it is the original top, ut it is a correct German cloth top, gain view the pictures. The hard top is excellent. The interior is the beautiful real red leather (not MB tex) with a fabulous patina to it. The door panels, arpet, ash top and wood all look near new. Please let the pictures guide you thru the description to help you appraise it yourself. Mechanically there are no issues. The A/C has a new servo and everything works the best. The wheels are original and the tires are Michelin in excellent condition. Now here is the best news. These early SL's are very inexpensive to purchase and the right one which this one is, akes the best investment. We have seen astronomical prices paid for 190 SL's as well as the 230-250-280 SL's, ommonly referred to as the Pagoda's. How long will it be before these 450 SL's catch on?
