Here is a mid 1993 production Mercedes Benz S420 sedan in just beautiful cosmetic condition and mechanically sound with no known defects. It is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) and Alto Gray (700). The car has 87,670+/- miles (I do drive it on occasion so the mileage is subject to a modest increase). For its' 21 years of service however, his actually is a low mileage example (approx 4,175 mi/yr) for one of these remarkable and iconic W140 Series cars, ustifiably famous for their bank-vault build quality. Cosmetic Condition This is a nicely-kept sedan in very acceptable cosmetic condition. I am the second owner (for 3 years), ut it was purchased new by an older internationally famous tennis star and lived at his 3rd home, araged, n North Miami Beach. The car was only used 3-4 months out of the year under his ownership. And of course, have all the service records since new- even the original window sticker. The car was purchased new at LP Evans Mercedes in Miami, L. The prior owner traded in his 1992 S420 for this 1994 model. I too have kept the car stored inside and have all service records from my ownership as well. The vehicle is not my daily driver either and I have driven it approximately 5,000 miles (80% highway). The photos I've posted should tell most of the story, ut here are some details: This S420 is totally rust free. The bodywork is undamaged with no accidents that I am aware of. All paint is factory original, xcept for the bumpers. I had them painted to take care of some scratches here and there soon after I purchased the vehicle. These were negligible blemishes but I wanted them taken care of. The factory paint is nearly unmarked, xhibiting very few minor blemishes and rock nicks, o parking lot rash and excellent gloss. In the collector trade, uch a well-tended original finish is often called "patina", nd this so qualifies. Chrome and stainless trim work is in good condition, till bright, ust and damage free. All body seals and gaskets are in like condition. All the glass is in excellent condition save for one rock chip on the front windscreen. The interior compares to the exterior in overall quality, erhaps even more so. Correct carpets and mats are original and in excellent condition (the passenger mat has some fraying around the edges). All the leather in the car is in near perfect condition, he driver seat has some wear. The wood veneer is all crack free with the exception of the bottom console piece which has 2 hairline cracks. The dashboard is in excellent shape. Mechanical Condition The engine and drive train have 87,670 miles at this writing and there are no known defects. The odometer was replaced in this car as the old one failed. The prior owners' mechanic is well known in Miami and he was the one that handled the replacement. He would make himself available for any serious buyer to discuss the vehicle. The engine starts and runs correctly, ulls strongly and operates with normal pressures and temperatures. During my ownership all servicing has been obsessive and I leave nothing to chance or failure, referring very robust preventive maintenance. Overall maintenance has consisted of oil and filter changes, park plugs, nd some miscellaneous hoses and drive belts along with the correct MB antifreeze solution. And a new AC compressor plus new suction/discharge hoses. Items of note: The car needs motor mounts. I have a set of new Lemforder motor mounts as well as a Febi transmission mount. If the car reaches asking price, will have mounts installed. If not, will still include the parts in the sale but installation will be up to the new owner. There are a couple of dings in the top hood by the grille (see pics) as well as the top of the trunk (see pics).
