This is a 1975 Mercedes 300D - This is a rare 5 Cylinder Diesel. Most of the cars with the W115 chassis came a 4 Cylinder Diesel and were a 240D. This 5 cylinder diesel has more power than its counterpart in the 240D. This car runs very well and straight on the freeway. It is not as noisy as the 240D since it runs at a lower RPM. Since it is not a Turbo it will still be slower than the newer 300D turbos that are in the W123 chassis. The paint is in good condition with a few hair line scratches. The rubbers around the windows seem to be in good condition. The interior is good condition for its age. There are no visible tears on the head liner, eats or carpet. The dash has a plastic liner that the previous owner installed - not sure of the original condition of the dash. The electric windows all work and do not hesitate. All the exterior lights work including the fog lights and dash. The trunk has its original plastic liner, pare tire and jack. The hood still has the original insulation. The car was repair for some damage to the driver side front fender visible when the hood is open - looks like an older repair before my time. The A/C does come on and clutch engages, ut it does not blow cold air - it may need to be re-charged. When I bought the car in 2012 it came with additional documents (repairs) that showed the car to have the low mileage of 60,000 - I have since lost all that paperwork, ut I can tell you that the car does ride and feel like a low mileage car. I have the original manual that will come with the car. Since 2012 it has been stored in a garage. The car does not overheat and it idles pretty smooth for a diesel. The transmission shifts smooth and for being automatic I can keep up with traffic of 65-75 MPH here in Southern California freeways. The car is being driven daily over the past two weeks with no issues. I will try to post a short youtube video showing the car on the freeway. I have owned a number of older MBZ diesels and this is definitely one of the best I've had. I have been slowing getting rid of all my toys since I just do not have the time to use them. I have a clean California Title. I will provide you with a Bill of Sale, ut will need the buyers legal name and identification.GoodOriginal paintOriginal interiorTwo front tires are new and back are still okDrives straight on the freewayAll fluids are newBattery is newBrakes are goodCar does not rattle like older Mercedes - other than the typical diesel rattleBadA/C needs re-chargeOne seat belt lock for rear seat is bad - does not lockOlder battery leaked and rusted are underneath batteryPassenger door does not open with outside lock - use inside lock to openCentral lock and un/lock system is not workingThe original radio does not turn on - have not had time to troubleshoot the issuePassenger front door pocket is missingClock does not workOdometer stopped working, peedometer still works but I think it reads about 5 to 10 miles under at high speeds.Turn signal lever does not stay on for turn signal - turn signals work, ou just have to hold itQuestions you may askNo sunroofNo cruise controlI have tried to described the car as best as possible.
