1983 Mercedes Turbo Diesel Coupe Black Metallic Paint - Burgundy Leather Interior Here is a beautiful example of a stunning Mercedes - Turbo Diesel Coupe. in a rare color combination that you will be hard pressed to find. Instead of the usual Palomino or Brown MB-Tex interior. it comes in great condition burgundy leather interior. No rips or tears in any of the seats and no wrinkled door panels. un-cracked dash. and quality carpets. It is hard to find an interior this clean. Over the years. I have owned over 10 different Mercedes Diesels. including 300D’s. TD’s. 240D. and Coupes. This is one of the classiest body lines and color combos. I came across this vehicle in the Northwest. where it came from a collector who purchased it from CA. I have owned it for about a year and half and could not pass it up. Unfortunately. I have five cars and I am not driving this much. just garaged and driving occasionally. so I am letting it go. It was in great condition and I did some minor work and major detail and basic upgrades. I took apart all carpets. back seats. trunk carpet. cleaned. detailed. oil and fluid changes. I also took apart the dash and bypassed the faulty reo-stat and purchased new bulbs from Mercedes Source. so you can actually see your dash lights at night. typical flaw in these cars. Mercedes Source is a good place to learn about these cars and buy every book or part to maintain. It comes with upgraded stereo. with auxiliary I-Pod hook up and component. MB Quartz Speakers. Nice quality upgrade. All windows. regulators. and sunroof in good working order. It was also converted to modern AC. see pics. Although you don’t need it much here in the Northwest. as we have very mild summers. but nice if it ends up down south. Owner's Manual. along with other original Mercedes-Benz literature. Overall. this car is in great working condition. starts up every-time. drives phenomenal at highway speeds. no weird shimmies. new tires. battery. and brakes in good condition. It needs to be driven more versus sitting in my garage. I purchased a new vacuum lock regulator from Mercedes Source for the driver’s door that will control the vacuum locks. I will attempt to get it replaced before the end of the auction. if not; I will include the part in shipping the car and lower the final sales price by $250. 00 as you are looking at about 2 hours of labor. It is my intent to get it fixed. but I already purchased the expensive part. it just needs replacing. Other than that. the car is in good working order. With that said. this is a 30 plus year old car. Some people are unrealistic in those terms when it comes to bidding. You will see a lot on e-bay about these cars as investments. but I rarely make money on these cars. I buy for a-while. drive for a year or two and find another project. However. you will not lose money and depreciation like a new car and ride in style. I have what I believe is a reasonable reserve on this car and it comes with clean Washington State Title.
