Car description

This Listing is For One Very Rusty 1965 Mercedes-Benz 220SEc Coupe that is probably best used for parts rather than a full major restoration! Purchased in 1986 by it's believed to be third owner with then only 70,000 miles on it it and it was his daily driver until needing some engine attention due to smoking in the early 1990's with then approx 150,000-155,000 miles on it! It was then subject to a engine overhaul with (possibly Main Bearings owner can't Remember) Connecting Rod Bearing, Piston Rings Only, Gaskets, Seals and Oil Pump replacement while also getting it's Cylinder Head updated with new bronze Valve Guides, new Valve Seals and more modern Hardened Valve Seats for use with unleaded fuel. It is also believed at that time some Timing components were changed possibly Gears, Chain, Tensioners and/or Guides, but previous owner could not 100% remember and no invoice was produced so I can Not Guarantee These Facts/Memories. I had professional knowledge of the Mercedes-Benz Specialist Shop and Mechanic who did it at that time as we supplied them with some Imported Parts. Well approx 13,000 miles later it was parked with brake and/or transmission issues and a newer replacement only to never to have been repaired or driven again, thus it was left to set in both inside storage short-term, but mostly longer-term outside storage for the next 26-27 or so years until now. This is the perfect mate to that Rust-Free Southern Coupe or Convertible with a missing Engine, Transmission, Interior, Glass or any other Mechanicals!
I would estimate that this specimen is approximately 95-97% complete but in very deteriorated condition as photos attest to. There are besides a very usable engine and possibly a good transmission, all other mechanical systems including drive-line/Drive Shaft, Rear Axle/Differential, all brake system parts (Girling Front Disc Brake Calipers and ATE Rear Drum Brakes) including it's very rare remote extra brake booster, all glass appears good and un-cracked with pealing aftermarket tinting and the Rear Glass is Claimed to Be Very Rare and Valuable due to Recent Offers! The doors are mostly straight, only partially in lower surface rust and usable although the driver's door will not shut correctly due to latch door handle issue! Some of it's chrome trim appears missing (wiper arms, some window molding, headlamp trims, hood star, rear emblems, etc) as is it's radio but most dash items and gauges are intact although most of its wood trim is in poor shape and in need of restoration one seat back is missing but I may be able to locate it for the winning bidder!
