1972 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 250C. Paul Barq, no pillar, classic. This is the same interior as the mercedes 'Pagoda' 280 sl, some say the most beautiful car ever made. This outlier MB has been restored for the past 20 years by two people. I am the third owner. It is an original numbers matching vehicle. Incidentally, this is the same model, year, and color of George Harrison's famous 250 C. This auction is for my 250C, with black interior, to be clear, NOT a Beatles owned car! ;) I've had more expensive and fast cars, but this is an icon and something a bit different about it. The burnt red is one of the best colors I've seen on a car and I'm not a fan or 'red' cars. Hi-end, upgraded LED headlights are perfect and give it a modern look until you pull all the way up. Carpet and interior nearly perfect. Hand made and polished engine - beautiful shape. Everything works. Pull up to any event at any time in this — always the right move. The trunk is gigantic and front seats recline all the way back to sleep in. RECENT WORK - Some brake work and carb adjustments were recently done by my mechanic, Class of 1972 Benz tech graduate. Top of engine was rebuilt two years ago and still had the cross hatch marks on cylinder wall from original factory dialing. Only normal petroleum has been put in this engine - no synthetics. Great tinkerer car that's already been tinkered with and fixed! Not a crack in the seats, but three small ones on dash, tires are great, interior lights and features work, has the super long $200 Bosch factory replacement battery, and totally dialed Zenith carbs. This car drives like a DREAM. Starts every time. Windows and quarter windows roll down effortlessly. Driver car with the largest engine available, the 2.8 litre inline 6 engine.The automatic shifts perfectly and strongly. It's beefy and fast on the interstate. Roof liner and carpet in almost flawless condition. Great glass, no chips. Engine is CLEAN and hand polished.Daily driver but almost could be like a trailer queen. There's a clear coat fade and blemish on trunk the size of a biscuit, and 2-4 very minor paint nuances. I have proper fit, gutter mounted Yakima surf racks (for hauling too) included ($300 value). Possibly the best w114 Benz coupe in the Texas (car club guys told me this). Serious knowledgeable buyers. Once I'm paid I'll title and shippers can come ASAP. Shippers can pick up car in South Austin at my mechanics shop, and UShip is an Austin-based company. I've purchased and shipped a cars on eBay before - it's in good hands, not a newbie. Two keys, odometer doesn't work but total mileage (was rebuilt well) is around 200k. Drives like new.
