Car description |

Low Mileage, 1990 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL600. Condition is Used. Here is the story as it was explained to be my the original owners son. Prior to me acquiring the car this was a one owner car originally purchased from over seas and shipped to China where is was used for pleasure by the owners wife, from China the car was imported to the United States in 2001 where the car underwent inspections, conversion of the instrument cluster and a VIN plate affixed to the dash so that the car could be titled in the state of Texas. When the title was issued it states the car is a 2001 however the car is in fact a 1990. I do not understand how the import process works and my only thought behind this is simply the year on the title is the year the car first entered the United States. It is a clean Texas title and the VIN shown and referenced herein is what is listed on the title. For listing purposes eBay had me list the VIN as all zeros however as per the pictures attached the VIN assigned for this vehicle is 49CFR565
As I have more cars than I need I have decided to list this one for sale. I have not driven the vehicle due to the fact I have been working out of state for the past few years. My understanding from the shop owner that has the car is that the car is great mechanical shape, car has low miles at only 46k, engine starts up great, idles smooth, runs strong, transmission shifts smooth, AC works, PW, PL, PS, PB, Cruise all work, hydraulic release hard top and soft top all work fine and the soft top is in new like condition. My understanding is the car appears to have undergone a new professional paint job of the original color at some point in time, leather interior, all interior panels all look brand new, all instrument gauges work great, no engine lights are on indicating any issues, tires have fair tread life but should be replaced.
The only known issue the car has is that the hydraulic suspension leveling does not appear to work properly. Looking at the car it looks to have a normal stance however the shop owner told me the hydraulic suspension system needs to be looked at, possibly a bad sensor as their does not appear to be any leaks. I do not have time to invest anymore time into this car and decided to just let it go as is. I have personally heard the car run and looked at it one time and from what I can tell the car is in very nice condition for being 30 years old. I have the car for sale locally and therefore reserve the right to end the auction early if the car were to sell.
