Car description |
---|
I purchased this SL Roadster from the daughter of the original owner in 2012. The vehicle was originally purchased in Florida and the daughter took it to Arizona where she resided. This SL was rust free and all original paint with no sign of body damage. There were a few minor door dings that didn't result in chipped paint. Since I acquired it in 2012, the car has been stored in a humidity-controlled and heated environment and has been driven less than 100 miles.
I took the car to Bud's Benz in Atlanta Georgia after it had been professionally repainted to the original factory color. The interior has been completely replaced with MB Tex. Carpeting also replaced. Coverlay Color Matched Dash cap installed due to minor cracks near defroster vents. Brand new soft top in original German Canvas installed by Bud's Benz.
I have all the repair receipts from Bud's Benz totaling over $ 12,000.00. I can e-mail PDF files of repairs made for your inspection.
I've owned many Mercedes over the years and purchased this car for my entertainment and enjoyment, aka money pit to anyone who loves these cars. I am past retirement age and do no have the time or interest to keep the vehicle. I also don't want to have it around and have my daughters who live out of state having to deal with it at some point in the future in my estate sale. (just keeping it real here folks)
This is a beautiful little example of the time period with short bumpers, a rare color combination, and needs a new home where someone can enjoy and DRIVE IT! The hardtop is in perfect condition, however I do not keep it on the car as I find it better on the soft top if it isn't folded up in the compartment.
I have all of the original books and owner's manuals from the vehicle but the Maintenance Service booklet was not kept up-to date by the owner.
I would be more than happy to help arrange shipping anywhere in the US. The car is currently at our mechanic's having the fuel system drained and a tune up done on engine since it has been driven so little over the past 7 years.
I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Please send me your phone number through e-Bay and I will return it promptly. Hoping to find a great new home for someone who appreciates these cars.
