Car description |
---|
This is my 92 year old Fathers 1982 Mercedes 380SL Convertable with only 98k Original Miles.
We're only selling as he just doesn't drive it much.
This is a very classic styled car with wonderful lines. It comes with the removeable hardtop as shown.
Tires are good and it is ready to enjoy. One of my sisters (who is about 60 years old) used it for a few years but moved further away with no garage space so it has been sitting. Dad just drove it to my shop twice in the past couple of months which is about a 30 mile drive each way on I&% partially @ 70 mph and then city and then country roads. It does what it is supposed to do.
It comes with the really nice wheels.
The seats have no tears and the paint is largely original and respectable. Dad has had some lower rust repaired in the rear quarters and has some as shown if you look close You don't really see it unless you get down and look hard. It's an Ohio car and not rusty junk nor a California creampuff....for instance the brake lines are still original.
It doesn't smoke or tick etc.The gas in it works but really needs run through it with fresh filled.
No major oil puddling but probably some seepage. It is a 3.8L V8 Automatic
This car won't depreciate on you and should be a fun summer or cabin weekend toy for the right person or couple
This is really all I know about this car and he's owned it for probably 10 years with indoor storage and limited use.
I have a contact to help with shipping.
I have no interest in getting anything over on anyone as this is the first Mercedes I've been around and limited amount at that. I am not a Mercedes aficionado by ANY stretch. The car looks very respectable and runs, drives, steers stops well...excepting the old gas is annoying as stated above. The car needs driven...again, that's why we are selling it.
If you have questions, give me a call. 614-203-1947 Feel free to come inspect it in person. Just don't buy it and complain if you didn't ask questions...please.
Thank you,
Rudy
