Car description |

For sale is my beautiful 1971 Mercedes Benz 220 W115 sedan. Clean and clear title in my name and in hand. Registration also current. Original CA blue license plates from 1971 go with the car.
Original owner bought it in the Santa Rosa/Napa area and it's been in Northern California it's whole life. Original owner took great care of it. It was parked in 2006 until recently when the original owner passed away. Car was then taken out of storage by a man who took it to a Mercedes repair shop in Sacramento where hoses and fluids were replaced to get it running again. He also installed brand new tires and a battery. He then sold the vehicle to me.
Four cylinder gasoline engine with 4 speed manual transmission. Engine and transmission work fine, although it does leak a very small amount of oil. It is minor enough that I havent even had to top off the oil level yet. At certain RPM, there is a plastic-like rattling sound from the shift lever console area. Sounds like something is just loose. Can make it go away by putting hand on shift lever. Doesn't affect shifting at all. Trans shifts smoothly, no popping out of gear. Car has A/C and it does blow but Im not certain it blows cold. Probably needs a recharge. The turn signal lever doesnt always stay when you push it down/up to indicate a turn. Radio comes on but I cant catch a signal, probably because I cant get the antenna up. Other than that, everything works (windows, doors, locks, horn, lights, etc). I have two keys for it, original manuals, tons of paperwork and maintenance records.
Exterior is chocolate brown and in great shape for its age. Original color. Does not appear to have ever been repainted. Small chips, dings and blemishes here and there, as any unrestored car of this age would have. Left rear bumper was pushed in a little bit at one time, see photo. Chrome is bright and clear. All glass is there and in great shape. Interior is peanut butter brown and in excellent shape. No rips or tears or holes in the interior. Carpet is very clean because original owner had been using floormats the whole time, which are still in the car. Headliner also perfect. This car has no rust anywhere, which is a major plus!
Beautiful car, fun to drive, gets tons of attention.
Can easily accommodate meeting up with a transport company if you are not local.
Dont be afraid to make an offer.
