Car description

1984 Mercedes-Benz300TD Wagon

Very rare and highly sought after 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Wagon. This W123 Turbodiesel Wagon combines the bulletproof reliability of the OM617 iron head engine with a powerful turbocharger. Only Mercedes diesels produced in 1981 to 1985 offered this extremely robust combination of reliability and performance.

Always professionally maintained, this wagon starts instantly with the turn of the key. The 3.0L Inline 5 cylinder Turbodiesel engine runs very strong with virtually no blow-by, and the turbo spools up nicely, delivering excellent power. The four speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly through every gear. The Self-Leveling-Suspension (SLS) feels solid, and there is no sagging in the rear end. The four wheel disk brakes are strong and grip evenly without any pulsations. The steering and suspension are tight, with no rattles or vibration.

The body is perfectly straight and extremely clean as can be seen in the several pictures. It comes with the complete adjustable roof rack option. The interior is equipped with the rare factory third-row seat option, complete with fold-out bench seat, headrests and three-point seatbelts. The inside is clean, free of odors and moisture, and is very well preserved, with only the driver's seat cushion showing noteworthy wear (please refer to over 50 detailed pictures of the wagon below).

Currently, I have too many vehicles with limited space for parking and am leaning out my Mercedes collection. This wagon has just been pulled out of the garage after several years in storage. In preparation for sale, it has just received a comprehensive servicing including:

* Fresh Diesel Oil and Filter Change* New Primary and Secondary Fuel Filters* New Air Filter* Fresh Brake Fluid Flush* Fresh Coolant Flush* Hydraulic Fluid Check and Top-off* Battery Performance Check* New Glow Plugs

Everything on this wagon works including the vacuum door locks, drivers side front and passenger rear windows (the other two will require a regulator/motor), power outside mirror, windshield wipers/washers and climate control. The air conditioner is working, but the compressor has been disconnected and will likely need a recharge to blow cold. Two pieces of interior trim on the rear hatch have been removed to correct a frozen lock mechanism and will need to be reinstalled. When opening the hood after the car was serviced, the hood cable snapped and will need to be replaced. The radio is connected, but is missing the faceplate. The rubber trim piece on the rear bumper is missing, but I have a replacement on order, which will be provided to the new owner.

Although in overall great condition, this is a vintage car and will naturally show signs of use and age. Please refer to the more than 50 full-size pictures that I have of the car below. This car smells clean on the inside and there are no leaks anywhere including the sunroof.

This very rare and well-maintained Mercedes-Benz W123 Turbodiesel Wagon represents an exceptional investment; because of its general scarcity and desirability, experts agree that these W123 Turbodiesel Wagons are sure to significantly appreciate in value in the coming years.
