Car description |
---|
1987 Mercedes 300SDL with 195K miles. The Mercedes runs strong but needs some minor work. I have been driving the car to work with no issues. The 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine starts right up and runs smooth. The transmission shifts fine. The car has a nice solid body and is rust free. The paint looks good and the body is straight except for one small dent on the drivers fender (looks like someone dropped something). The headlights need the bezel covers (40.00 on eBay, just didn't have time to order them). The lights, turn signals, horn and wipers all work. The car drives smooth and the brakes work fine with some pulsing from sitting. The tires are fair. The front end feels tight, and the car rides straight but it will need an alignment. The tires squeal going around corners. The interior is in average to fair shape for its age. ( I have not detailed it.). There is a split in the passenger seat and some of the wood trim is loose. There is an aftermarket radio the works, but looks like it was not really mounted.
The climate control will need to be gone over. It has good heat, but AC not kicking in. I tested the compressor and the system for leaks. It holds Freon and the compressor works and cools when "hot-wired". It may need a climate relay or sensor. The vacuum power locks are not working and the drivers rear window needs a switch (motor tested good). Overall this is nice solid Mercedes ready to drive home. It should run another 200K. I would not hesitate to drive it home.
The car is sold with no reserve. I have disclosed all the defects I know about, the car is sold as-is
