Car description |
---|
A very deserving restoration project car. Euro version of the very unique California Coupe with the rear seats and a removable hard top. This is an original 4 speed car.
Recently purchased from the estate of a gentleman who intended to do a full restoration but passed before he could get to it. The previous owner removed the injection pump and lines and they are missing, it appears that he was preparing to remove the engine to begin the restoration. The engine turns freely on the starter, there may be some other small engine parts missing. The brake calipers were removed and will be in a box in the trunk. Appears to have had a marginal re-paint to black in the 80's, originally silver. Very minimal rust with a half dollar size in the drivers side forward left corner floor and a smaller hole in the right rear floor under the seat. Looks like it is from mice. Clean Title in hand. There were only 5,196 250SL's produced in 1967. Approximately one-third were imported to the U.S. and 10% of those were California Coupes. This makes this California Coupe very rare with only around 200 brought to the U.S. . Most of the 200 brought to the U.S. were automatics, this 250SL has a 4-speed making it more rare.. We can help arrange shipping, we have shipped cars across the globe.
