1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL 4-Speed

This 1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL received an extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration between 2009-2012 while with its previous owner. The factory 2.3L inline-six was completely overhauled along with the 4-speed manual transmission. Several updates to the braking and cooling system were also performed. The body was repainted in Signal Red, exterior chrome was refinished, and a replacement soft top frame was installed. New carpet, leather seat covers, and door panels were also fitted during the restoration. I have an unrestored Pagoda hardtop and a clean title in hands.
Finished from the factory in Arabian Grey (124) with a contrasting black (040) hardtop, the car was completely stripped in 2009 and repainted in the current Signal Red while with the previous owner. All exterior brightwork was re-chromed at the same time, and new OEM bumpers were sourced and refinished. Color-matched steel wheels were fitted with Goodyear whitewall tires in 2009.
Originally trimmed in Medium Red (117) MB-Tex vinyl from the factory, the cabin was refinished by the previous owner with Bamboo (249) leather seat covers and matching door panels and carpets. All instruments, controls, and powered accessories remain functional. Mileage is shown at 27,705 miles and believed to be accurate.
New leather seat covers present well and are accompanied by new seat cushions for both occupants.
Both the 2.3-liter inline-six and 4-speed manual gearbox were disassembled and completely overhauled with new components prior to reassembly. Additional work included:

New brake booster, master cylinder, and reservoir
