Due to the recent acquisition of a 280SL. I am selling my beautiful 1977 450SL. a Southern California car with absolutely zero rust. From appearances and operation it seems to have had a series of owners who carefully drove and maintained the vehicle. There is no evidence of physical damage. Besides driving well. the vehicle has recently passed the strict California smog test. The title and license are current. It appears that the vehicle has been repainted in the original silver. code 735G. The paint shows extraordinarily well and there are no dents and only a few minor scratches. All of the bright work is in good condition and very shiny. The vehicle is equipped with the factory removable hardtop and the convertible soft top. The hardtop is in excellent condition however the convertible top material is degrading from age and has some tears. Of particular appeal is the red interior. The dash is crack free and the seat coverings have no flaws. The original red carpets are clean and have good color. The only imperfection is the red covering material on the console is fading. however. in the spirit of preservation versus restoration. I am letting the natural patina show. Dies are available to restore the original depth of color if desired. Mechanically. the vehicle runs perfectly. The engine starts easily and is eager to run. The transmission shifts very smoothly. The heater and air conditioning systems function. The original Becker radio has been replaced with a Sony stereo radio. I have a copy of the factory build card which confirms the colors and engine serial number are correct. While I am asking that the buyer pay transportation costs. I have an automobile transport trailer and will consider delivering the vehicle within 200 miles for a nominal fee. I will be pleased to address additional questions through the EBAY email inquiry system.
