Car description

1985 Mercedes 380SL—One Gorgeous Car!
  • Everywhere I drive with my black 380SL I turn heads. The nearly flawless body and it’s stunningly bright paint, combined with the chrome bundt Mercedes wheels, this car looks like one heck of collectible! The black on chrome appearance of the car looks incredibly timeless. Additionally, my black 380SL has the expensive European bumpers that give the car a much more trim and up-market look. When I drive downtown on the weekends, people point and wave.
  • The hard top and soft top are both included and are in flawless condition.
  • Not only does my black SL look the part, but it also drives rock solid! With fewer than 45,000 miles, the suspension and drive train is tight and smooth. It rides as a Mercedes should. The engine fires right up and runs very smooth. The transmission glides through the gears effortlessly.
  • This SL, with less than 45k miles, feels and looks newer than any classic car I’ve ever owned.
  • All the gauges work. The car fires up effortlessly. The a/c and heat work great. The radio works nicely, along with the power antenna. All the minor features work as well—turn signals, headlights, windows, power locks, etc.
  • The interior is a light cream color, and it is in good shape. Given this car spent most of its life in the south, there is some fading on the driver's door panel and seats (as shown in photos). Nothing too major at all.
  • No rust anywhere on the vehicle.
  • Every nook and cranny of this car is clean and looks in showroom condition—the engine bay, trunk, fuel door, door sills, underneath the car, etc.
  • I have a clean North Carolina title in hand. I was told by the previous owner this car was a grey-market import back in the 1980’s (these cars have the excellent European bumpers). I cannot confirm any of its imported history, other than the sticker in the driver’s door that shows the importing dealership, year, and VIN.
  • VIN is printed on the car and title asTP18D701780 (11 Digit VIN presumably because of import)
