Car description |
---|
My 1983 Mercedes 300D is in great condition. It has less than 130K miles with the original classic white (MB 737G) paint, no rust, and no dents. The chrome is shiny, not dull like you see on the many 300D's exposed to the elements. I always have been parking far away from other cars and kept it covered to avoid damage. There are no dash cracks or fading. The beige MB-Tex interior including head liner are flawless. The interior was upgraded with premium custom palm fibre Coco Mats. Tires have plenty of tread. The spare tire has never been used. The engine starts and stops immediately. There are no weird noises. AC blows cold. No vacuum leaks as far as I can tell. The auction includes several extras that you do not find in any other auctions. If you have read so far you know about W123's and I will not reiterate why to buy a W123. But I like to emphasize that it has gotten hard to find them with low mileage and in the condition that this one is in. Please check out all pictures and if you like to see close-ups of anything or you have questions, please let me know.
The car is located in Irvine, CA and I will try to make myself available during the week as much as possible to show the car and test drives for those that are interested. If you consider bidding on the car, I am asking you to see the car in person if at all possible. There are no warranties implied and the car is sold as is.
I bought the car about 3 years ago from the son of the original owner who took exceptional care of his vehicle. I was very surprised to see that he even kept the original Mercedes maintenance tags for the climate control unit and speed control that were on the car when it first sold. Of course it also came with the original owners manual and maintenance booklet. I continued taking care of the car with German quality and precision.
This car is very nice although not showroom condition. It has been a daily driver and turning heads. In the pictures you see some scuffing on the front bumper. I never minded it but include a brand new OEM Mercedes Bumper cover in case that you wish to replace it.
Besides the replacement bumper cover, I am including other extras like MB valve stem covers, spare wheel lugs, a bottle of sealed MB touch-up paint, and the original shift knob. As you can see in the pictures, the interior of this Mercedes has been upgraded with extra Zebrano wood accessories.
My preference would be that the car is sold to a California buyer because I believe that the California climate is best to keep the car looking good. If you are bidding on the car outside of California and cannot make an appointment to see the car, please ask as many questions as possible or request pictures of what is not shown. I will do my best to represent the car honestly.
I may try to sell this car locally and therefore might end the auction early if the car is no longer available.
Good luck bidding!
