History of the car: The car was manufactured on 1 August 1989 and shipped to USA by an order dated 21 September 1989 for wife of a gentleman in an oil business in New Mexico. It spent its whole life up until a year and a half ago. It was just driven for pleasure purpose for few miles a day. Then their neighbor bought the car & owned for few years and I found it. That`s why it only has 42k miles. This car has always been garaged, never saw snow or salt and Mercedes Benz serviced. It really looks as if it left the factory in Stuttgart in 1989, still smells and runs like a new 560SEL.

Condition

Exterior and interior

In US, when you see a black 560SEL, it is mainly matte black color (MB 040). However, this car has a special-order color, MB 199 - Black Pearl Metallic and it is different. It is of course with its original paint with no dents. The chrome, also like a mirror and has no damage or scratches.

The interior is special-order leather, too, MB 261 Black Leather and it looks like new. People sitting on W126 seats say one thing immediately “wow! this is very comfortable…It is because the seats are with springs and foam inside…Newer cars are only with foam seats. These seats are nearly with zero wear. Only slight marks you would find on any high-quality leather. Because the leather breaths & dries if not treated well. Carpets, headliner, foot rests are all in great condition. Dash; zero crack, in perfect form so are the door panels. Look at the wood, burl walnut. Absolutely crack free and shiny.

I pay attention to details as such vanity lamps & covers under the 4 doors => all new! headlamp wiper blades => new!

All options & functions inside the car work perfectly. Original Becker radio with cassette (cassette works!), adjustable power antenna, power windows, power sunroof, cruise control etc.

Mechanical & Engine

Chassis: no rust, excellent & smooth drive.

Engine: starts up and idles very smooth. Some 560SELs are having rough idle or engine stops when it`s cold if gas pedal is pressed? Yes, they might do that, but this car doesn’t. Because it has a brand-new Bosch Fuel Injection Electro Hydraulic Actuator/EHA Valve; Fuel Distributor Pressure Regulator. It has always been serviced at Mercedes-Benz dealers, recently at Elmbrook, WI, with Mobil 1 oil & filter, new Bosch Fuel pump/filter, new battery, new valve cover gasket & an oil cap.
