Car description

Welcome toKatzKlassicsIncEbay Store!
Mercedes - Benz 1952 220 CB

Car was originally imported to California; where current owner purchased in 1973.A lot of work was done right to get the beautiful example of a 1952 Mercedes in the photos.
Odometer read about 6,000 km in 1973 when current owner bought.Car has approximately has 2,000 miles since engine over haul. Was only driven to car shows and always kept in a heated storage facility.
Engine was overhauled in 2004.New timing chain and tensioners, new valves and guides, new pistons, new rings and bearings.Head was machined; all new gaskets and seals; also new side panels.During this time the fuel tank was removed and sent out for re-conditioning.
At this time many other new parts were installed.Flywheel was machined and new clutch disk was put it.Rebuilt carburetor with new gaskets.
The water pump and master brake cylinder were overhauled in 2009.
Generator and starter were overhauled in 1993;shock absorbers were also replaced at this time.
Beautiful, brand new stainless steel exhaust system recently installed (2017).
Master brake cylinder & water pump have been re-built.Water Pump and Radiator have been cleaned and repaired; also have new hoses.
Rear axle boots are new.Tubeless tires.
New windshield, along with new back window.
Speedometer was over hauled in 2017; new cable was installed.
Radio was repaired and working in 1974 - however has not been connected to power source since.(SW & M band are seldom used currently).
Transmission and rear gear box were checked, both have play within tolerance.
Heater fan, fog lights, rear dome light, and lighter have also been disconnected from power sources;have been disconnected to prevent accidental drainage of battery.
Original central point 90 weight oil suspension lubrication system is all in place;however grease fittings have been installed to prevent leaking of the original system.
Original oil filter is included with purchase (see photo of trunk);but a modified fitting allows the use of a screw-on filter.Car was re-painted and all older paint was stripped off; there were areas that a green paint was noticed under some of the pre-existing black - suggesting that the car was used by the German police. Other indicators include that the holes in the fenders were sealed - possibly for a siren or light. Also a bracket in the engine compartment suggested siren placement.
All new leather upholstery on seats and side panels.
Installed (2009), functional seat belts.
Trunk is leather lined and carpeted - see photos.
Original green plastic visors.
