Car description

I am listing my Mercedes 6.9 at a very low reserve price since it needs a few things done to make it perfect. The 450 SEL 6.9 was the flagship of line in 1979. The huge 6.9 liter V-8 engine of the 600 limousine was fitted into the large full size sedan making it a very collectible rare car. There were only a few of these hi performance cars built which insures its scarcity and rarity. It was advertised as the fastest production saloon car in the world. It is a 140 mile per hour rocket sled. May I remind you that a 911S Porsche was about that fast back in those days. The color combination of silver and midnight blue is also very popular.
This car is out of long time storage, hence you'll want to do some things to it to make it excellent. The fuel is old and smelly. I just put a brand new battery in it. The exhaust is noisy and sounds like it has a hole in it. The interior is remarkably lovely with genuine leather remaining very serviceable. I tested the power windows and all went down and back up, aside from the right rear that refused to go back up. (there's plastic there now to keep the rain out) The suspension works well to the best of my knowledge and stays pumped up. The paint job is failing in places mostly due to the clear coat getting cloudy. I took a close picture up of the sunroof that needs cosmetic attention. Under the car particularly around the edges is peeling undercoating to an extent with rust getting under the coating. It appears worse than it really is in my opinion. It needs to be scraped and touched up where the metal is exposed. There are some perforations thru the metal but not excessive or so it seems to me. The long storage has created a musty smell that is less now than when I acquired it.Buy this rare and pretty car......"as is and where is". The car is sold with a Georgia bill of sale. Georgia is a non title state for old cars of which this car qualifies.Questions? Call Mike Cicora 864-934-4308
