1962 MERCEDES UNIMOG ZOMBIE ASSAULT VEHICLE- You are looking at a 1962 Mercedes UNIMOG Zombie Assault Vehicle. I purchased this car from Collector car dealership 2 years ago. I was in great condition when I purchased it with no rust however we decided to redo it anyway. This is a very nice restoration. not your typical military vehicle restoration (with spray cans). We have put over $35. 00 into this Unimog so far. Since it has been restored it has only been driven less than 5 miles. We will be adding a video in the next few days. The Unimog starts up and runs like a champ. Sounds absolutely beautiful. This project was a very expensive one. We invested SO much into this Unimog that it will unfortunately be a loss to us. but my loss is your gain. You could take this Unimog to the show tomorrow. We didn’t want to do what everybody else does. We wanted this to be unique. Our mechanics just finished installing a brand new head; it was more efficient for us to purchase the entire motor. We did not end up using the new block. as it was not necessary so it is sitting in the military container in the bed of the Unimog. The new buyer will have a brand new block as well (worth approximately $3000. 00. which will be included in the sale). This vehicle is great for parades. promotions. radio remotes. Halloween stores. Halloween attractions. paintball mobile billboard. the possibilities are endless. The vehicle was already featured in a magazine even before it was finished and I am including a photo of that as well. The Unimog is categorized as one of the most capable vehicles of all time and In a zombie apocalypse which vehicle would you choose to have? For those who don’t know what a UNIMOG is. Unimog is a range of multi-purpose auto four-wheel drive medium trucks produced by Mercedes-Benz. a division of Daimler AG. Due to their off-road capabilities. Unimogs can be found in jungles. mountains and deserts as military vehicles. fire fighters. expedition campers. and even in competitions like truck trials and Dakar Rally rally raids. In Western Europe. they are commonly used as snow ploughs. municipal equipment carriers. agricultural implements. construction equipment and road-rail vehicles. The 404 Unimog has been used as an expedition vehicle ever since it’s introduction. To this day they are used to cross the deserts of the Sahara. climb the peaks of the Himalayas and to penetrate the jungles of South and Central America. There is good reason for this. They are rugged. simple and reliable. and extremely capable. Furthermore. they are relatively inexpensive and need little modification for arduous expedition work. A 404 Radio Wagon is basically a “turn-key” expedition vehicle. ready to provide transport and shelter under the harshest conditions. Unimog 404s are generally much more capable than older Land Rovers. Land Cruisers. etc. and just about as comfortable. The Unimog however have much more room and cargo capacity. However. 404s do have some drawbacks as expedition vehicles. They are underpowered and under-geared for expeditions that depend on extended on-road travel. The lack of power and gearing also means they do not get good gas mileage. especially when they are being worked hard. They can also be quite loud and drafty and they have a tendency to get very hot or cold in extreme temperatures. This is comparable to older soft-top Land Rovers. A lot people don’t mind this but it is worth taking into consideration. Finally. parts can sometimes be hard to find for 404s in remote areas although they can usually be sourced in more metropolitan areas. Overall. 404 Unimogs are best suited to short term. leisurely back country recreation and exploration. where top speed and creature comforts are not as high a priority as the freedom to explore. Having said that. the 404 is quite capable tackling the harshest environments for extended periods of time if the driver is up to it and top speed is not a priority. Unimog 404s are still a popular Trans-Africa expedition vehicle and many owners are quite happy with them. especially ones converted to diesel. The following is a list of work that has been completed/performed on the Unimog. When we started the work on this vehicle we could tell that it has been in warm dry climate most of its life as there was no rust. - We stripped the Unimog down completely to almost all-bare metal including the frame. - Added new head - Engine was completely went through - Cleaned out fuel cells. - Re-built carburetor - Installed new ignition with new wires. plugs and points - -new hood - New front canvas top (needs one button repaired) - New professional matte grey paint. it was even brought into the cab itself onto the instrument cluster. - New bed installed - New taillights - Front flare fenders over the front wheel wells were professionally bed liner coated. - Entire interior floor and door panels have been bed liner coated as well as the front bumper. - Frame and front grill were painted professionally using an extremely durable/high temp frame paint. - Professional. custom Zombie apocalypse wrap done in October 2014. and has always been stored under cover. THE LIST OF WORK GOES ON AND ON. THERE WAS A TON OF MONEY PUT INTO THIS UNIMOG. I am sure I missed stuff and I will continue to add to it to the description. The only thing the new owner will have to do is cover up the name of the attraction that the vehicle was created for on the wrap and replace it with their own name. The cost to print the new wrap stickers is approximately $200 or less. I have put together this entire description to the best of my knowledge. Please see all the pictures that I have posted. This vehicle turns more heads than a Rolls Royce. I couldn’t imagine pulling it up to the premiere of the Walking Dead. What the Unimog still needs to have completed is as follows: -Button on the canvas top. -Gauges to be hooked up The Unimog is currently licensed and registered in Nevada. This vehicle is a custom off road. low geared vehicle and I would not suggest taking this vehicle on any lengthy highway drives. This vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer will be responsible for all transport costs. A $500. 00 Non-Refundable Deposit is required within 48 hours of agreement to purchase. Remaining Balance is due within 5 days of the agreement to purchase and payable in the form of certified funds.
