Description

I am the second owner of this fantastic diesel Mercedes and have kept it in good running condition. It is a classic car with a smooth ride and it still gets excellent mileage despite its age. It's been my daily driver since I purchased it from the original owner, but I recently purchased a newer car that better fits my needs for travel and I don't have room to keep both. It has been garaged for most of its life, but has only been driven a few times in the last six months. I've never had an issue with the car - the engine has been maintained and is in great shape. It does have a block heater which is incredibly handy in the winter - the car starts up hot and ready to go. I can provide full service records and have recently replaced the alternator, master and slave cylinders, and the brakes. Other than some underbody rust acquired from a lifetime spent in the midwest, there are a few minor body issues that do not affect its performance:- the front passenger fender was dented when a car rolled into it (see photo). There was no underlying structural damage, but I haven't found a fender to replace it yet.- the rear bumper is loose on one side. The o-ring in the bumper is rusting off (see photo), but the posts are fine. I've been told that it can't be welded but I haven't yet found a replacement bumper.- the rear defrost has been removed. The controls function and I have a new system purchased that will come with the car - it just needs to be installed!- the antenna does not retract, but works fine. It would probably function if the motor was replaced.
Aside from these minor issues, this car is in very good shape for its age and is SO comfortable and fun to drive! It's 4-speed manual transmission is very easy to learn for beginners and most of the original components of the car are still intact including all four hub covers, functioning gas-suction locks, and even the rear window medical kit. Please feel free to contact me with questions if you're serious about purchasing.
