This is a low reserve auction. The winning bidder will own this AWESOME G-Wagon!
We purchased this Wolf last year but have had a change of plans, we're moving out of the country and need to sell!!
This real deal 250GD Wolf is powered by a Mercedes Benz 5 cylinder, 2.5 liter, diesel motor. It currently has about 72,000 miles, which if you know Mercedes diesels, makes this barely broken in. With the proper care and maintenance, these diesels will go 400,000 miles or more! There is nothing more bulletproof than this motor. Before you read any further, if you don't know what a 250GD Wolf is, just Google it and watch a few of the videos. There is nothing more competent off-road than this vehicle. The G refers to it being in the Mercedes G Class and the D refers to it being a diesel motor.
This truck was decommissioned earlier in 2016 from Bundeswehr (German military use) and it was legally imported from Germany. Religious, old school, military maintenance was performed during its military service in Germany. It was meticulously serviced at all intervals throughout its life. This truck significantly stands out from the common NATO trucks. Mechanically, this truck is top notch. I have driven it for 6 monthswith no issues. The upholstery is all original in very nice condition. The rear seat on the driver's side has a slightly more brown vinyl than the other seats which are clearly green. The exterior is also very nice for used military truck. The hood has a couple of small dents (pictured) that can easily be pulled out, if you so choose. For me, its authenticity as a retired military G-Wagon is reflected in these little battle wounds. The paint is a camo military-grade paint. You can't buy it anywhere. It has a special coating that was made to be durable against trees and brush when it was driven off-road, and it also makes it more difficult to be seen by night-vision googles...not that you will need this feature:) There are a few small spots of rust, but they are minimal (see picts). The photos from underneath show just how clean this Wolf is! It's super solid and heavy.
This was either the first 250GD imported into the US, or very close to it. Most of the retired military G's seen for sale in the USA are 240's, and not 250's. This one is the 250GD which has a bigger diesel engine than the 240's, and it has the much better 5-speed gearbox.
Here are a few Interesting facts about the Mercedes Benz 250GD Wolf:
The 250 GD Wolf production started at the beginning of the 1990s, and only around 12,500 vehicles were delivered to the Bundeswehr. This is the series 461.4 with some special features that distinguish the vehicle from its civilian counterparts. It is more powerful in comparison to the previous and more common 240GD. This truck has 22 more horsepower. It also has power steering and a 5-speed gearbox, unlike 240GD. Power brakes and power steering make this super easy to drive.
It will easily cruse at 65-70MPH, with a top speed around 75MPH. Because this is an imported vehicle from Germany, the VIN I entered is incorrect and had to be modified to fit the US/eBay standards. However, it does have a legally imported VIN of WDB46140117067187 and I do have a clear title.
24-volt vehicle electrical system (NATO standard)
Half doors with roll up glass windows
Foldable front windshield
Olive leatherette cover all four individual seats;
wooden rear floor with C rails for Rüstsatzmontage. Rear flooring is covered with heavy duty rubber mat
5-speed, heavy-duty gearbox
Military blackout lighting (Tarnkreis) with dimmer for front headlights
Rüstsatzspezifischeinternals lashing rings)
The mileage and speedo is displayed in kilometers, which I converted to miles for the ad
Please do keep in mind you are bidding on a pre-owned vehicle, it is not new. But, for a 28 year old vehicle, especially a former military vehicle, it is SUPER clean. It needs nothing and is ready to drive anywhere today.
Here are the bidding particulars. If you are new to eBay or have 0 feedback, contact me BEFORE you bid or I will have to cancel your bid. Buyer is responsible for ALL shipping costs and arrangements. I will gladly help in any way I can. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due immediately after the close of the auction. The FULL balance is due 72 hours after the close of the auction. Good luck!
The spare tire is BRAND new and has never touched the ground. The other tires are about 95%. They are like new and still have a lot of the rubber knobs on them. They are Continentals. Also, 1 of the 2 batteries is new and was bought less than a year ago. All you have to do is turn the key, wait for the glow plug light to go off, and start her up. I would not hesitate to drive this across the country.
