Car description

google SEARCH " mercedes 300CE WEBER" . its the dashboard shot of me driving. play it enjoy! 1991 mercedes 300ce coupe, Very unique ride. I bought this car with the vision of a 5 speed conversion. I've done 5 diesel manual conversions and two coupes so far. The manual transmission is from a European model 300e sedan and was a full swap including a new flywheel and clutch kit, new master and slave cyls also. an excellent euro dash pod so the rotation value of the euro trans to speedo makes sense. Then alas I had no spark. Fyi there are no ezl ignition modules available for the years 90 91 92 in the 3.2 coupes. They don't make them anymore...period. I'm a class A machinest so I converted the dinasoar mb system of spark and distributor to a simple, very reliable and cheap ford grenada distributor with internal ball bearing and a GM hot spark system with coil. A dual 48mm idf weber clone carb was adapted to the intake to add reliability to the insane problems these cars CIS injection systems can have. Lower pressure fuel pump in the rear with a pressure regulator up front and viola, it's a bitchen ride. Starts on the dime and performs well. The carb Will need to be jetted according to your altitude and temperature. There is a microswitch that activates the intake cam advance at the correct rpm. NOW a distributor cap and rotor cost under 20 bucks instead of 200. Simple hot spark coil and module is around 40 bucks instead of thousands in parts you can't find. I've driven the car about 1000 miles. The engine had a full rebuild before beginning the transformation. Valves guides seals lower bearings rod bearings. EgL delete electric cooling fan also, front and rear main seals timing chain and guides. Full driveline rubber replaced including both guibos, center bearing, trans mounts motor mounts. The AMG monoblock rims are staggered and all the tires are brand new. No rust at all as it was always a S. Carolina car, clean title in my name. i drive the car regularly, registered and inspected.
Cons. The paint on just the hood is checked it is not original to the car. It has been updated to the modern 96 version hood. Front and rear bumpers will need matching white paint. Front bumper is aftermarket. The wiring needs to be sorted out on the a.c., blower and cruise control. The carb linkage IS attached to the cruise control. the tach also does not function. It is NOT an AMG car. I added this emblem, also NOT a Dogleg trans. This 5 speed came out of a 300e euro car. Very different gearing by far than a 190d 5 speed. A european dash cluster was added. The original dash will go with the car.
Please don't ask a million questions about how I did this. It's very involved and believe me you won't be able to do it unless you are an engineer, machinest. The hard work is done just some wiring jetting and you will have a car like no other. I get compliments everywhere it's heard. Opening bid is the reserve. Ill close the auction with the first bid and you get the car. Message me when you bid.
