Car description |

This is a 1986 Mercedes Benz 190e 2.3-16 Cosworth. These cars were originally built as the vehicle that Mercedes would use to return to factory racing. Designed for rally racing, the incredible turbocharged all the drive Audi Quattro put an end to that dream. Mercedes instead turned their attention to road racing, specifically the German
Touring Car Championship. Here on the track, the Mercedes eventually bested their competitors BMW and Audi and won the manufacturers championship in 1992. The Mercedes Cosworth, while increasing in value in recent years, is still a bargain compared to the BMW E30 M3, Audi Quattro, and other German cars such as the Porsche 911. Most car collector experts expect this car to sharply increase in value as both it's racing heritage and road manners put in on par with its German cousins.
This car has been a Georgia car its entire life. The original owners kept this car until recently. It was dealer maintained until 2 years ago, it was sold to a mechanic who babied this car until selling it to me. This car is in very good original condition. It is still wearing its original paint. Of course, it shows very minor door dings, etc as any car would but overall it is in excellent condition. Absolutely no rust on this car and it has never been in an accident. The interior is also in excellent condition and the factory Recaro seats show no wear. There is a 2 inch split on the top of the rear seat along the seam that could easily be repaired.
This Mercedes runs and drives great. The famed dog leg Getrag race transmission with first gear down and to the left, falls easily to the hand and shifts thru all gears with ease. The engine makes beautiful sounds, especially as it is wound into the upper rev range. This car will make both an excellent investment and more importantly will be a very enjoyable driving machine for its new owner.
