Car description |
---|
I have for auction a very special 1977 Mercedes 450SL that I purchased from FL, shipped to NY and then never used before I relocated to CA unexpectedly. This car was purchased in Florida and shipped directly to my garage in Brooklyn and never driven here. This is a FANTASTIC condition car, most of these in the northeast are rusted out. I also bought Euro bumpers for $1200 on ebay and installed the front. The rear still needs to be installed, but comes with the car.
I love this car, but it's too risky to bring to CA because of CA smog regulations. I'm selling it way below other's asking prices and you're getting a much better condition body than you'll find.
The car is currently with a vintage Mercedes SL expert, Steve at Kraft German Auto. He'll gladly show you the car and tell you everything he did on it, and where it needs more work. 103,000 miles, so very low mileage for the year.
The good:
-Runs and starts great!
-Brand new catalytic converter installed along with some other parts replaced for $3600
-Recently replaced gas tank
-Put about $6000 of work into it since purchase, more than half the needed work has been done to get this to be a daily driver
-$1200 European (smaller) bumpers, front installed, rear not installed yet but included in auction.
Here's what it needs:
-Needs new steering box
-Needs new tires
-Needs new motor mounts
-New belts and hoses
