The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of S-Class automobile manufactured by Mercedes-Benz between 1979 and 1992. Premiering in September 1979 as the successor to the W116 line the W126 was the second generation to officially bear that prestigious designation an abbreviation for the German Sonderklasse or "special class." The 116.965 engine was introduced in 1986 for the revised S-Class. It featured 9.0:1 compression and had from 204-231 PS (150-170 kW; 201-228 hp) depending on year and export mark...et. All engines were mated to the Mercedes-Benz 4G-Tronic transmission.
