The R107 series Mercedes was one of the longest running single series ever produced by the automaker having been sold from 1971 to 1989. The top of the line 560 model was introduced in 1986 to help quench American requests for a more powerful engine. This model featured a 5.6L V8 engine which produced 227hp and 279ft-lb and had a 126mph top speed. Less than 12k were produced in 1986 which raises collectability. This 1986 example is finished in a fetching shade of dark grey and features a thin ...red double pinstripe. The paint shows decently and has a few faded spots on the edge of the hood and other areas. The pinstripe is a faded a bit as well but is an easy touch up and adds a nice splash of color. The chrome trim looks good and shines well and the glass is in good shape as is the body colored. The interior is in decent shape as well with seats that have no rips but are in clean shape. The dashboard has one crack in the middle but all of the instruments and lights work as does the climate control power windows and radio. The engine also starts up quick and sounds good. The current owner claims this car was purchased from Ohio and they've had the car for 12 years. There was a new air-conditioning system installed as was a new transmission and new alternator. A solid runner this 1986 example features a top of the line engine and desirable color combination. It has been well taken care of and has many receipts and documents of service history. This is a bargain for a luxurious Mercedes Convertible. To see over 80 photos of this car including under carriage please visit our website
