1984 Mercedes Benz 300 TD wagon

This is a VEGGIE-DIESEL station wagon. It LOVES to run on vegetable oil but also runs on diesel and bio-diesel and any mixture of the three. No extra fuel tanks needed. Just flip the line heater switch 30 seconds before starting the car when using straight veggie oil.The engine runs great and shows no signs of slowing down. I have had no engine related issues in the 10 years I have owned this car.It has a salvage title due to a front end accident sustained by a previous owner. Tony, my Mercedes mechanic, inspected it before I bought it and told me the frame was straight and I shouldn't have any problems. He was right. Aside from a loose front passenger side lamp housing (see photo), I have had zero issues related to the accident/salvage title. The body has no dents. There is a little rust at the base of the radio antenna.Regarding the jolt in the transmission when going into second gear, Tony said that's a common thing with Mercedes and that sometimes it gets worse and sometimes it stays the same. I lucked out. It never got any worse. It even goes away after the engine warms up.The heater works great, but the A/C does not work.In cold weather the hydraulic locks are a little stiff and the back hatch won't stay open. It will stay open if I pump it 5-10 times. It works great in warm weather.I repeat: THIS CAR CAN RUN ON STRAIGHT VEGETABLE OIL!
