Take a look at this Fun, Sporty, and Original 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL. With this vehicle’s transparent 2 owner (1 family) past and massive amounts of documentation to support the car’s history; this Mercedes-Benz 450 SL is the perfect candidate to use as a daily, fun, eye catching driver but also worthy of a restoration by an avid collector.
This classic Benz is originally a Texas car, and spent its life there until 2007 when the owner’s aunt sold the car to him. The current owner stored the car in the garage at all times and only drove it on bright, sunny, beautiful days. Even though this is currently a Wisconsin car, it has never seen our unforgiving winters.
Powering Mercedes-Benz automobiles for a decade is the smooth and dependable 4.5 L V8 engine which will practically run forever if maintained properly. This car’s easy start and smooth idle are backed up with plenty of maintenance records to show how well this car has been taken care of. Sure, this car may show a few signs of cosmetic wear, but the mechanics of it are solid and make for a dependable, great car to take out on any cruise or fun getaway that you would want to go on.
The body retains all of its original paint and sheet metal which has weathered pretty well over the last 38 years. However the hood is faded from the hot Texas sun, and there are some scratches on the driver’s side. These are obviously items that a buyer could live with, and drive the car as is. However; we wanted to be 100% up front, and disclose any and all flaws.
Mechanically; this car is solid as they come. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere in the country. With the long list of mechanical receipts; it is clear that this vehicle was well-maintained and cared for.
Overall; this is a great car that can be enjoyed as is, or taken to the next level. It is as honest as they come, and isn’t hiding anything. She is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner.
