My apologies, I relisted due to a listing error on my part.
Here is your chance to get your hands on this Classic Collector Car at an affordable price. This 1988 560SL is arguably the most attractive color combination produced. She has the very desirable and rare diamond Blue Metallic with Cream interior.
We are the 2nd owners and owned this car since approximately 2002. We drove the car for the first few years but being a 3rd car she was driven less and less up until about 7 years ago where upon we stopped driving her completely and stored her in our garage. I would just start her up once a month and/or drive her around the block every 2 or 3 months.
Up until the time we stored her she was always well maintained by German car specialists. The German Car Garage in Mission Viejo and Hi-line Mercedes in Orange, CA.
Because the car has been in our garage for 7 years we had the German Car garage completely go though everything mechanical to ensure she is running perfectly for the new owner. These cars need to be driven. Because she sat for so long gaskets dried out and so we had everything replaced.
We just spent $3600.00 before bringing her to market to ensure there will be no surprises. She also just received a new smog.
She drives straight and true, has lots of power and stops as she should.
The Good!!
Matching Hard top included
AC is Ice cold, Heating is great
Super low miles on tires and wheels,
super low miles on brakes and Rotors
Recent new upholsteryMercedes OEM Floor Mats were stored and are like new.
Steering completely gone through, with fresh alignment
Interior is excellentGlass is excellentAll gauges and functions work including the time clock
No accidents, California Title in hand
The German car garage also just Dyno tuned and took her for smog. She has always passed easily even over the years of non use.
There is not a dent or a ding anywhere on the vehicle
All the bright work/Chrome is in excellent conditionNew spare headrest covers are included, the current covers do not need replacing.Just flushed radiator and replaced all drive beltsLow miles on all new fuel injectorsFuel Distributor just completely rebuiltJust Replaced intake manifold gasketsJust Replaced Exhaust manifold gasket
Oil Change, new plugsOriginal OEM radio, works fine.German car garage went completely through the car, no expense spared. Shes ready to drive across country.
The Bad:
The paint is original and the clear coat has worn through in some areas, trunk lid, top of rear quarter panels and top of hard top. See pictures. We were going back and forth as to if we should repaint her but ultimately decided to sell her all original with nothing hidden at a far lower price.
Matching hard top is included.Driver and passenger window rubber on hard top is dried out, we have both sides OEM Rubber included ready to install. There is a very small rust spot on the passenger side door sill, it is the only spot of rust on this California car. It was there when we purchased the car 15 years ago and has not grown significantly in size.
The electric radio antenna is connected to radio but not connected to the power supply in trunk...easy access just needs connecting to operate up and down antenna switch. Also included is the original OEM Antenna that needs a new belt which is also included ready to install. There is a Sony 10 disk CD player in the trunk, it ejects and powers up. I do not believe it is currently connected to the radio. The wood trim in the lower console has cracks in the clear coat, just that one piece, all other wood is excellent.
That's about it. Essentially we have here a beautiful rare color combo all original 1988 560 SL. Mechanically perfect she just needs paint and she will be flawless.
Any test drive or mechanical inspection welcomed. If you would like to speak directly to the German car garage simply message me and I will provide you with their number.
My wife and I have sold several of our personal cars here on Ebay over the years with great success. Please see our feedback! If you are out of state and want more pictures please contact me. We will accommodate your shipper and have done this several times over the years without issue.
No Scammers or tire kickers, No trades of any kind. Cash only in person or bank wire, No cashier or Bank checks or other monkey business!
Message me with questions, Thanks for looking!
