RARE 1977 MERCEDES BENZ 280SE W124! 1-OWNER BLUE PLATE CALIFORNIA CLASSIC!

THE OVERVIEW
Offered for an appreciating new owner is this classic 1977 Mercedes Benz 280SE W116-chassis sedan!
Finished in light blue metallic over bone tan leather, this 40 year-old BLUE LICENSE PLATE California classic has been driven just over 212,600 miles [and yes, the odometer still works!] since new. It sports a good running 2.8 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to the factory 4 speed automatic transmission, electric windows, electric sunroof, color-keyed wheel covers with nice Michelin tires, updated Kenwood cassette stereo [plus the original Becker Mexico radio the status of which I do not know], fog lamps, genuine sheepskin seat covers, a/c and more. It is being sold with clear and clean original small "pink slip" California title, current registration, original keys and more! This cool classic sedan is being offered here at NO RESERVE!

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this classic Benz is in good, 99.9% rust-free condition overall. I would imagine that this car does not have all original paint. I would call this car and presentable "driver-quality" specimen with nice original trim and chrome, groovy original wheel covers and both front and rear blue and yellow license plates. The car has a definite patina which includes checking/cracking to some paint areas along with miscellaneous, rock nicks, scratches, fading and other cosmetic blemishes.

THE INTERIOR
As I hope is articulated in the photos here, the interior of this non-smoker Benz is in quite good, VERY original condition throughout with most all gauges and controls in excellent working order [the a/c is not currently blowing cold] including bright dash and console lights, electric windows, stereo, electric sunroof and electric seats and near-flawless dashboard. There are some older sheepskins covering the front seats which have some wear underneath, slightly dried out puckered rear seat cushion leather, soiled carpet mats and nice door panels and headliner showing expected light 40 year-wear and tear. Overall this is still one roomy, comfy and well-preserved cockpit!

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This 1977 Benz starts perfectly and runs well with respectable acceleration, smooth shifting automatic transmission, nice secure braking and good tracking down the road. There is a slight alignment pull to the right and a bit of tail pipe smoking. This is still one big solid satisfying cruiser!

I prefer to sell this car to NON-California residents as the car will not currently pass smog test.
