Car description |

This is one nice Mercedes. Super clean carpets and paint. No rust and straight body with all the molding. Is it perfect? No. Perfect 300D's sell for over $10,000. Nice ones like this sell for about $5000 and cheap ones needing A LOT of TLC are around $1500. This one is somewhere in the middle.
I bought this MBZ in 2006 and have put about 120,000 additional miles on it. That's about 10k miles per year. I can not recall a time when it did not start right up. This has been the most reliable car I have ever owned and would keep it if I could, a move is forcing me to sell.Driving it is like driving a tank on a cloud. It is so sturdy with a smooth balanced ride. When you close the doors it is a solid comforting sound of strength, not like the tin cans made today. It is a Mercedes so it is built for comfort, it's also a diesel so it's not built for speed. Surprisingly with the turbo, it has more than enough freeway passing power.Don't let the mileage scare you. The engine and transmission are still strong and smooth with many many miles ahead of them.I have a video of it here: https://youtu.be/9aBseFMD-Eo
The interior is also in good shape for its age. There are some signs of wear with one small dash crack and some additional wear and tear on the door jambs and the behind the seat cargo nets missing. But nothing major that takes away from the beauty, comfort or drivability of the car. The seats are still in good shape, the headliner is intact, and the carpets are clean.
Because it's a diesel it is super reliable, great on fuel (over 20mpg around town and up to 30mpg on the highway) and lower maintenance costs than a gas engine, so tunes ups are a breeze.
In addition to its regular maintenance (tune-ups, brake jobs, transmission flush) in its minimal time at the shop it has had the following repairs:
2008 - Replace passenger side rear axel and all rear suspension bushings and shocks
2011 - Fuel tank flush
2013 - Brake Job/Replace motor mounts
2017 - Replace 2 window motors
That's all I can recall for repairs as, like I said, this car is super reliable. This Mercedes is 100% all original and has always been a CA car, no rust, no accidents no major problems.
This is a perfect daily driver and still gets "thumbs up" and "nice car" acknowledgment from people. What else can I say except, it's a classic.
I have the pink slip in hand ready for the next owner, no smog needed.
