Selling my mother's 1985 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL. Telling you right up front, this car needs TLC and would probably be best sold to a mechanic. Here's why: It overheats, and we have no idea why.
The car starts, runs and drives, somewhat roughly, but will overheat of you don't keep driving along. The last time I drove it continuously for an hour before the temp gauge started creeping up, but absolutely no guarantees. We truly have no idea what it needs to get it back in top running order. Being sold totally as-is.
THAT SAID. Between December 2014 and today, my mother has had it aligned, replaced air filters, replaced the transmission pan, repaired a tie-rod, idler arm, center link, lower ball joint. New spark plugs, distributor cap, distributor rotor, fuel filter, air filters, new muffler, new radiator, new radiator hose, new thermostat.
Cosmetically, needs some TLC. The driver seat has a tear, the clear coat is peeling in places, the hubs are pitted. The hard top is in good shape, but the cloth top needs to be repaired or replaced. I will say, a wash and good wax will do a lot for this car.
Buyer will have to pick it up or arrange from shipping from Morgantown, West Virginia. Additional questions, you can call Eric at 929-286-2277.
