1983 Mercendes Benz 280SL R107 Grey Market Euro Import 190 SL 380SL 450SL 500SL

You are bidding on a 1983 Mercendes Benz 280SL the was imported in 1983 from Germany. Had to punch it in as a 1980 as Ebay does notrecognize the VIN due to the car being a grey market model. This vehicle belonged to my father in law who passed in 2011. Here's some history that I am aware of.
Imported Februaryof February 1983 by Him pesonally. Vehicle original color was Brown and resprayed Red in 1985. He re-upholstered theseats in 2007 and took the car off the road in2009. There is rustpresent on the rockers, floor board and front bumper.There is evidence of repair on the left rear quarter panel. Clear coat haspeeled away.Chrome is peeling off the bumpers in some spots. Lighting is in good shape.
Before he took the car of the road it ran like a champ. Transmission shifted perfect and motor ran strong. After he passed away, My mother and law had the car moved to a local mechanic and sat ever since. Car currently does not start. I'm assuming it needs fresh fuel,Batteryand tune up.
I had the intentions of keeping this a project restoration, But I don't have the time or means to bring this car back to its glory.
The hardtop is in great shape and worth a lot of money.
